Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

Provides support to the testing site as required. Responsibilities may include some or all of the following:

  • Addresses patients as they present.
  • Asks patient to have Manitoba Health Card or government issued identification.
  • May be required to check patients in that used the appointment booking system.
  • Determines patient’s eligibility criteria to proceed for testing (has checklist to determine eligibility).
  • Advises patient if does not meet eligibility criteria for testing.
  • If patient meets eligibility criteria:
    • Provides sanitizer and procedural mask to patient.
    • Has patient provide Manitoba Health Card.
    • Directs patient to waiting area or texts patient to return for testing.
  • In drive-through locations, may be required to assist with traffic control.
  • Accesses patient profile in Electronic Medical Record or creates new profiles.
  • Creates an appointment in the Electronic Medical Record for testing in real time.
  • Inputs patient information on requisition including symptoms and travel history.
  • Generates chart for COVID19 testing into patient Electronic Medical Record.
  • Ensures site has appropriate supplies, orders new supplies when required.
  • Sanitizes high touch surfaces between patients, conducts hourly general cleaning of bathroom facilities.
Experience
  • Two years previous related data entry/clerical experience.
  • Experience using Electronic Medical Records required.
  • Experience with Windows based computer software.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Certification/Licensure/Registration

Qualifications and Skills
  • Keyboarding skills (45 wpm).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
