We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent full-time, Tool Crib Coordinator based in our Canam Calgary facility.

As a Tool Crib Coordinator with Canam your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct weekly checks of manufacturing consumables and supplies;
  • Regularly perform a parts inventory of the Tool Crib and maintain an inventory against purchases;
  • Monitor stocks and establish minimum/maximum levels to ensure there are no stock-out of long lead time parts and critical items;
  • Follow-up with the Maintenance Department for any missing information related to work orders;
  • Distribute parts from the Tool Crib as requisitioned by Maintenance;
  • Follow-up with suppliers to ensure receipt of parts;
  • Establish a catalog of all maintenance-related parts;
  • Institute a tool registry. Issue tools to the shop; upon return of tools, ensure that tools are properly maintained, cleaned and serviced for next use;
  • Verify requisitioned parts against stock to ensure accuracy;
  • Collect and verify packing slips, ensuring the supporting paperwork is collected and forward to Purchasing Department for verification;
  • Inventory all non-steel items, cross reference with registry items issued, and make adjustments as required;
  • Carry out other job-related duties as assigned by management.


The successful candidate will possess:

  • Experience of 1 to 2 years in maintenance or inventory function;
  • Ability to work well in a team atmosphere;
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite, Oracle, Microsoft Office and experience with computer systems;
  • Fundamental mechanical aptitude;
  • Physical capability to lift items weighing 23 kg/50 lbs (+/-);
  • The ability to communicate effectively with customers with a positive customer service approach;
  • Proactive problem-solving and decision-making skills;
  • The ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, verbal, diagram or visual form;
  • Exceptional organizational and English communication skills (verbal and written);
  • The ability to effectively multitask and manage multiple priorities;
  • Punctuality, maturity, reliability, an ability to work well under pressure with frequent interruptions while delivering exceptional customer service is essential to excel in this role.

Working safely is a condition of employment at Canam.
Frequent exposure to a steel fabrication environment, where you may be exposed to welding fumes, paint fumes, and loud noise. General office and constant exposure to computer display. Safety PPE (personal protective equipment) must be worn while onsite (steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses, etc.). Daily interaction with production personnel, managers and other team members.
