As Translator, you will support the corporate and product marketing teams, and other departments within the organization, by converting written materials from English to French and French to English, as well as apply appropriate adaptation for the French market.

Reporting to the Director, Marketing & Communications, you will undertake the following.

Here’s how you’ll contribute:

  • Work with various departments within the organization to provide translation services.
  • Verify the quality of French in presentations or documents intended for external clients.
  • Ensure copy style, standard and guidelines are followed in all French print material.
  • Manage the workflow and deadlines of all translation projects.
  • Quality assurance and effectiveness of communication by identifying cultural references, including slang, and other expressions that do not translate literally.
  • Provide written translation services such as proofreading and copywriting in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance processes and style guidelines for French translation.
  • Build a database of terminology appropriate for each of the services at FCT. Conduct one-off terminology research and standardize the terminology use in different channels across the organization.
  • Work with external vendors for larger translation projects while considering budgetary restrictions.

Here’s what you’ll bring:

  • 2 -5 years of translation experience
  • Must be fluent in English and French
  • Bachelor’s degree in Translation
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to work in a collaborative work environment
  • Ability to learn new concepts and skills quickly

VOICI COMMENT VOUS CONTRIBUEREZ:

  • Travailler avec divers services au sein de l’organisation pour fournir des services de traduction.

  • Développer et mettre en œuvre des processus de contrôle de la qualité et des lignes directrices en matière de style pour la traduction vers le français.
  • Constituer une base terminologique appropriées pour chacun des services de FCT. Effectuer des recherches terminologiques ponctuelles et uniformiser la terminologie dans différents canaux au sein de l’organisation.
  • Travailler avec des fournisseurs externes pour des projets de traduction de plus grande envergure tout en tenant compte des restrictions budgétaires.

VOICI CE QUE VOUS APPORTEREZ:

  • De deux à cinq années d’expérience en traduction
  • Maîtrise du français et de l’anglais, une exigence
  • Baccalauréat en traduction
  • Connaissance de la suite Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint et Word)
  • Excellentes aptitudes pour la communication orale et écrite
  • Excellentes compétences organisationnelles et souci du détail
  • Capacité à travailler dans des délais serrés et à établir les priorités
  • Capacité à travailler dans un environnement collaboratif
  • Capacité à apprendre rapidement de nouveaux concepts et de nouvelles compétences
