This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.

Responsibilities

The Unit Aide has an important role within the health care team. Reporting directly to the Health Services Manager, the Unit Aide is responsible for ordering, stocking and maintaining all supplies and equipment to meet the needs of patients in their designated work area. An understanding of the basic principles of infection control is essential and key to providing a safe environment for patients and staff alike. This role also provides indirect and direct support for patient care.

Qualifications

* Grade XII
* Demonstrated understanding of the importance of cleanliness in a hospital
* Ability to establish good relationships
* Good judgment and demonstrated initiative
* Team player with effective communication skills
* Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

  • Short assignment, full-time (100%) position; 70 hours biweekly

Salary Information

Unit Aide

$18.5747- $20.0915 hourly
