Vice President – Market Strategy & Understanding

Position Summary

As a Vice President, you are an industry leader able to provide advice and support on key client accounts relating to their growth and development. You have an in-depth understanding of custom research methodologies with research experience from design through analysis to final insights and recommendations. You have a keen eye on sales and business development. This is an excellent opportunity that will focus on expanding and growing existing and newly established accounts. We are looking for someone who is driven to continue career growth.

Key Responsibilities

Business and Account Development: New account acquisition, nurturing of existing accounts, preparing proposals, building prospect contact lists, contacting/meeting prospects, preparing deliverables, delivering client presentations, translating client questions/issues into research needs, day-to-day management of accounts, and developing new ideas.

Client Management: Providing exceptional client service by developing and maintaining close consultative client relationships, negotiating and managing conflict. Providing methodological advice and strategic insight to clients as a key business partner. Delivering results that produce high levels of client satisfaction and loyalty by providing insights and actionable recommendations that positively affect our clients’ business

Project Management: Supported by your team, oversee research projects from beginning to end, including writing proposals, costing, managing project profitability, overseeing completion of Statements of Work and ensuring the successful delivery of end results to clients.

Research Skills: Design methodologies including higher analytics and passive or non-survey measurement, creating questionnaires guides, creating data analysis plans, writing story-led reports and delivering interesting and insightful client presentations.

Mentoring: Direct, lead and provide day to day guidance and coaching to account team members

Cross-Team Collaboration: Proactively work with internal cross-functional leaders and Client Organization to manage projects and solve problems. Actively participates on internal committees.

Ideal Candidate has the following Skills and Experience:

  • Market research supplier side and experience in the consumer packaged goods sector, including market leading innovative companies; client-side or marketing/branding consulting experience a great asset.
  • Accustomed to (and holds an appreciation for) working closely with the client as a partner to develop the right story. Great fit for a researcher who appreciates the opportunity to work alongside a client, as a partner to develop.
  • A passion and aptitude for developing business, proven sales growth experience an asset.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on strategic report writing, possesses well-developed interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Superior organizational skills, including the ability to manage and delegate work effectively, unflagging attention to detail & demonstrated commitment to the accuracy and completeness of information
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, working collaboratively with both internal and external clients, while maintaining a strong team and client service orientation.
  • Strong team leadership skills with experience in mentoring and/or managing others.
  • Strong aptitude for research consulting with highly developed analytic skills, the ability to think strategically and to provide innovative and creative solutions.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed & possesses a driven personality capable of working within tight deadlines
  • Undergraduate degree required
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience
