Job Summary:

The Investments Team at adMare BioInnovations is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to support the evaluation and development of innovative life sciences ventures within Canada’s biotech ecosystem for 12 ,up to 18 months term. This position offers a unique opportunity for a scientist with strong analytical and research skills to gain hands-on experience in early-stage life sciences venture capital investment.

The Fellow will work closely with adMare’s investment professionals to assess new opportunities, perform scientific and market diligence, and support strategic decision-making related to early-stage biotech companies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the mapping of key sources of dealflow across Canada in line with adMare's investment strategy.
• Conduct scientific due diligence on early-stage investment opportunities by evaluating data packages, and performing market and competitive analyses to assess translational and commercial potential of discoveries.
• Support preparation of investment memos, presentations, and recommendations for internal review.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with adMare’s internal scientific, commercialization, and business development teams.
• Engage with external stakeholders, including academic inventors, startup founders, and ecosystem partners.
• Contribute to portfolio reporting, and ongoing company creation initiatives.

Education and Experience:

• PhD in pharmacology, immunology, biochemistry, or related life sciences field.
• Strong understanding of molecular and cellular biology, drug development, and translational research.
• Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate scientific data and literature.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information clearly.
• Interest in life sciences venture capital investment and company creation.
• Analytical and detail-oriented with curiosity about the business of science.

In this case, the successful candidate for this position is required to have an excellent command of English, both spoken and written, due to the fact that the tasks to be performed include the responsibility to maintain, on a continuous and daily basis, relations with our Canadian team, whose main language of oral and written exchange is English, and to be able to discuss scientific and business concepts competently and in detail in this language.
