Sr. Analyst, Insights, News & Entertainment - 12 Month Contract Who We're Looking For We are looking for a skilled Sr. Analyst to join the Consumer Insights team at Rogers Sports & Media, supporting our News & Entertainment brands. This team is essential to empowering our core brand and product teams with data-driven insights and analytics, driving strategic initiatives across performance reporting, brand tracking, custom analyses, and qualitative insights. As we look toward 2025 and beyond, we’re excited to expand our efforts in digital optimization, experimentation, and personalization.
In this role, you’ll lead driving data initiatives for our digital assets across multiple platforms such as Citytv+, and custom research projects that uncover audience behaviour and brand perception across News & Entertainment brands. You’ll collaborate with iconic brands like Citytv, CityNews, Bravo, Discovery, HGTV, etc. and a diverse portfolio of music and news radio stations nationwide along with our Seekr app. This dynamic role allows you to combine your analytical expertise and passion for media, making a direct impact on the success of some of Canada’s leading news and entertainment brands.
What You'll Do
- Drive insights and analytics initiatives for our digital products (Citytv+ Direct to Consumer, Citytv+ Amazon Prime Video, CityNews 24/7, upcoming digital service) and create performance/insights reports that deliver impactful and actionable insights that support the business goals and priorities.
- Lead impactful brand tracking and custom research initiatives, partnering closely with Marketing, Sales, and Content/Brand teams to fuel data-backed strategies, and collaborate on establishing performance reports that deliver 360-degree insights across platforms and key brand metrics, keeping stakeholders informed and aligned.
- Partner with digital data implementation teams to ensure seamless capture and reporting of key digital metrics, enhancing the quality and impact of insights delivered across the organization.
- Collaborate with and consult cross-functional News & Entertainment teams, offering insights and recommendations that shape marketing strategies, digital content, product evolution, and content optimization.
- Develop insightful audience profiles, covering demographics, media behaviors, and psychographics, empowering brand, marketing, and content teams to execute targeted, effective strategies.
- Craft compelling, data-rich reports that bring insights to life and support smart, strategic decision-making across the business units.
- Lead market trend analyses by combining internal data and third party/syndicated data sources, sharing timely, actionable insights with insights teams and key stakeholders to stay ahead of industry shifts.
What You Bring
- Experience with digital analytics tools (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics), with foundational knowledge in streaming data reporting, digital insights generation, and web analytics implementation.
- Proven experience in consumer research roles, covering online research methods, brand tracking, questionnaire design, cross-tab analysis, sampling techniques, and project management.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Numeris), linear media tools (e.g., Numeris, Nielsen), and data mining techniques (SQL or Python) considered valuable assets.
- Advanced data analysis skills, with expertise in tools like Excel, SPSS, Q software, or R, and experience in qualitative research methods (e.g., focus groups, in-depth interviews) as a plus.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including storytelling, data visualization, and clear reporting, with the confidence to present and engage in Q&A with cross-functional teams.
- Strong curiosity and adaptability, thriving in both collaborative and independent work environments.
