Position: Worksite: BC Offshore School - BCCIS-Cairo Effective
Date: 2026 Deadline for Applications: open
Contract Term: 2 years
Certification: Candidates must be a BC certified or certifiable teacher
Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:
BCCIS is a BC Offshore School that is accredited by the BC Ministry of
Education. BC certified teachers teach the BC curriculum that leads to a BC
Dogwood Graduation Diploma. Benefits Include:
- $41,000 - $58,000 USD depending on experience
- one Canada/Egypt return trip ticket per year
- housing provided by the school, two teachers of the same gender per apartment in the Cairo suburb of Maadi which is an expat hub
- transportation to and from the school
- three professional development days per year
- Winter Break, Spring Break as well as Egyptian holidays
- Medical coverage within Egypt
- Tuition for children reduced by 50%

The British Columbia Ministry of Education and Child Care certifies and
inspects the delivery of the B.C. educational program by offshore schools.
B.C. offshore school owner/operators operate and administer offshore schools
and are responsible for complying with all offshore program requirements as
well as all laws of the country in which the school is located.
The Ministry of Education is not responsible for the employment relationship,
including any employment disputes, between a teacher and an offshore school
owner/operator, which is governed by a teachers, principals or vice principals
contract of employment. The Ministry of Education is also not responsible for
and does not participate in the process of obtaining or vetting work visas for
B.C. offshore school teachers.
B.C. offshore school teachers are responsible for ensuring that they have
correct information regarding employment and immigration requirements for the
country in which the school is located. Teachers may wish to contact the
countrys consulate (or embassy) in Canada with any questions related to local
laws, regulations or requirements.
