About the role
The Materials group is seeking a motivated individual to fill a Groundman position at the Bruce Mines Quarry location. The primary role of this position is to support plant operations through general labour, equipment operation, and maintenance tasks.
Schedule: Night shift, Monday–Friday, 55–65 hours per week, with the possibility of working weekends when required.
Job Location: Bruce Mines Quarry: 9630 Hwy 17, Bruce Mines ON.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain cleanliness and organization of plant and parts storage areas.

Perform manual labour including shoveling, cleaning catwalks, and washing using a fire hose.

Operate support equipment such as skid steer, manlift, and rock truck (as directed by supervisor).

Assist with small repairs and general maintenance tasks.

Ensure good housekeeping in areas such as screen decks, tool trailer, and MCC buildings.

Support safe work practices and compliance with OHSA and company policies.

Work collaboratively with others and independently when required.

Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
EDUCATION, REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:
-
Valid G driver’s license.
-
Ability to work safely, efficiently, and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
-
Willingness to learn and operate various types of support equipment.
-
Capable of working in stressful situations or alone.
-
Handy and mechanically inclined.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Physically demanding tasks including manual labour.
- Exposure to noisy environments and rough terrain.
- Long workdays (10–12 hours).
