About the role
What you’ll do
The Category Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in our Canadian Tire organization. As a key member of our merchandising team, you will support Category Business Managers, internal cross functional teams, and vendor partners to achieve P&L deliverables and build merchandising programs that equip Canadians for the jobs and joys of life in Canada.
- Responsible for gathering, analyzing and maintaining data and reports to support merchandising decisions by utilizing internal systems, market data/trends, and vendor inputs
- Support Category Business Manager in assortment planning activities (in collaboration with cross functional teams) including annual category business reviews, product set ups, cost and retail price management, replenishment and forecasting reviews, and on-shelf planogram development
- Support Category Business Manager in planning and executing promotional and advertising activities, including but not limited to flyers, digital channels (website, social, emails), promo pricing execution, and product samples management
- Act as key contact and support for vendor management activities; providing vendors support and training on product set ups, development and quality, onboard new vendors, provide internal reporting and data as needed
- Act as liaison between stores and corporate network to address any customer or store facing inquiries from the field
What you bring
- Post secondary undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, Retail Management or Data & Analytics or related education
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, etc.) and ability to learn and master new software applications as needed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present data and findings to a diverse group of audiences
- Proficient in problem solving, research, and interpreting large data sets and trends
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate, influence, and negotiate with colleagues
- Retail or eCommerce experience considered an asset
