Tasks
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines (mills, lathes, grinders).
- Use manual machining tools (drill presses, surface grinders, conventional lathes).
- Adjust machine settings to optimize performance and precision.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and digital files.
- Verify dimensions using measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).
- Select cutting tools and fixturing devices based on the materials used.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and report any issues.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections.
- Record production data and maintain accurate documentation.
- Adhere to collective agreements and union protocols.
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to collaborative problem-solving.
- Perform any other related duties as required.

Job requirements
- Recognized apprenticeship diploma in machining and/or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in CNC programming (e.g., G-code) and manual machining techniques.
- Strong knowledge of machining principles.
- Solid understanding of metallurgy.
- Familiarity with occupational health and safety standards.
