Tasks

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines (mills, lathes, grinders).
• Use manual machining tools (drill presses, surface grinders, conventional lathes).
• Adjust machine settings to optimize performance and precision.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and digital files.
• Verify dimensions using measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).
• Select cutting tools and fixturing devices based on the materials used.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and report any issues.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections.
• Record production data and maintain accurate documentation.
• Adhere to collective agreements and union protocols.
• Participate in safety meetings and contribute to collaborative problem-solving.
• Perform any other related duties as required.

Job requirements

• Recognized apprenticeship diploma in machining and/or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in CNC programming (e.g., G-code) and manual machining techniques.
• Strong knowledge of machining principles.
• Solid understanding of metallurgy.
• Familiarity with occupational health and safety standards.
