As part of the Fleet Services team, the Mobile Fleet Mechanic role is responsible to provide road-side services for our field crews working in the Transmission and Distribution groups. The Mobile Fleet Mechanic supports the safety and reliability of fleet equipment assets in the field and in the shop ensuring minimal loss time on equipment allowing for increased uptime and improved equipment reliability.

Key functions include:

• Addressing and repairing any equipment failures in the field

•  Providing equipment repairs and maintenance in the Shop (Fredericton)

•  Working with Original Equipment Manufacturers on engineered repair procedures to support equipment failure or recalls

The ideal teammate will have:

•  Heavy Equipment Mechanic CQ OR Truck and Transport Mechanic CQ (Preference will be given to those with a Heavy Equipment CQ)

•  Valid Class 5E Driver’s License

•  Certification of completion of the CUFC Hydraulic Training Program would be considered an asset

Combined with:

•  Three years of experience working with Hydraulic systems (preference will be given to those with Aerial Hydraulic systems)

•  Three years of experience with fleet maintenance programs

•  Four years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic

An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.

An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
