About the role
The Edmonton Volleyball Pickleball Center and The Edmonton Pickleball Center are hiring a Human Resources and Facilities Manager. The HR & Facilities Manager is responsible for the dual mandate of human capital management and facility upkeep. This role's primary function is to oversee the lifecycle of front line staff; recruitment, scheduling, onboarding, training and recurring feedback to these individuals. The secondary function is to ensure facilities are maintained to elite brand standards. The incumbent serves as the primary lead for operational logistics, procurement, common area maintenance, and statutory licensing/compliance (AGLC and Municipal).
- Human Resources & Personnel Management
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Recruitment for all front counter personnel. Manage the onboarding process, including employment contracts and payroll system integration.
- Training & Development: Deliver comprehensive training based on the corporate "Operational Playbook." Ensure all staff are experts in POS, customer service protocols, facility safety, and facility maintenance. Sport specific training will occur with Sport Directors
- Workforce Scheduling: Strategically manage the master labor schedule for both Edmonton facilities. Optimize staffing levels to ensure peak service during high traffic periods
- Performance & Feedback: Provide recurring feedback and performance coaching to front counter staff Maintain accurate employee records, including certifications and attendance tracking.
- Facility Operations & Logistics -Common Area Maintenance (CAM): Act as the primary point of contact for property management and external vendors. Arrange and oversee all aspects of CAM, including janitorial services, repairs, and general building upkeep to ensure a "Pride in Place" guest experience. -Stock & Inventory Management: Oversee the end to end procurement and inventory control for the following: -Office Supplies: Ensure administrative teams are fully equipped. -Concession Stock: Manage par levels, ordering, and merchandising for all food and beverage items to maximize margins and minimize waste. Operational Consumables: Maintain stock for janitorial and facility maintenance needs. -Daily Audits: Conduct site inspections to ensure facilities meet corporate standards for cleanliness, organization, and visual appeal. -Licensing & Statutory Compliance - Regulatory Licensing: Serve as the custodian for all facility-specific licenses. Proactively manage the renewal cycles and compliance documentation for all individuals and all facility licenses. -Operational Reporting: Provide regular updates to Operations managers regarding labor efficiency, facility maintenance costs, and inventory turnover. SOP Enforcement: Ensure all facility operations align with established Standard Operating Procedures to maintain a consistent "franchise-model" experience across the city.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Professional Experience: 3 - 5 years in a management role combining HR functions (scheduling/hiring) with facility or hospitality operations. Regulatory Knowledge: Proficiency in AGLC regulations and Alberta employment standards. Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in POS and workforce management/scheduling software. Leadership Style: A disciplined, systems oriented leader capable of managing diverse teams and complex facility logistics across multiple sites.
TYPE OF POSITION: Full-time permanent position (40 hours per week) Salaried Position with Bonus Opportunities Position base in Edmonton Alberta - 2 different locations Work schedule from Monday to Friday (depending on schedule needs) Mobility: May be required to travel occasionally between locations

The Edmonton Volleyball & Pickleball Center (EVP Center) offers comprehensive sports programs and facilities for youth and adults, primarily in volleyball and pickleball. Services include youth development programs, leagues, tournaments, summer and spring break camps, private/group lessons, and court rentals. They also facilitate multi-sport camps, special event bookings, and have an affiliated fitness center.
