About the role
VOLUNTEER POSITION(S) English DSC Members (positions below). The English DSC works to enhance the academic and social experience for students in the department. The council organizes events, fosters student engagement, and represents the interests of English students. Each member contributes to the execution of events, outreach efforts, and the creation of a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Applications will remain open until a competitive pool of applicants have applied. Expected Time Commitment and Remuneration 8-month term from October, 2025 to April 30th, 2026. Roles And Responsibilities First Year Representative
- The first-year rep acts as a liaison between first-year students and the English DSC/English Department.
- Their responsibilities include representing the interests of first-year students, promoting DSC events, and encouraging first-years to get involved with the English Department.
- The first-year representative has strong communication and interpersonal skills, fosters a welcoming environment, and takes initiative in engaging with first-year students.
