Betel Home Foundation operates 2 not for profit Personal Care Homes in Gimli and Selkirk Manitoba.

Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Resident Care, the Workplace Wellness and Training Coordinator is responsible for promoting the health, wellnes and ongoing develpment of all staff with Betel. This role coordinates employee health and ability management programs, oversees staff education and training, and fosters a safe and supportive workplace that enhances both employee well-being and quality of resident care at both of our personal care home sites.
The position of Workplace Wellness and Training Coordinator functions in a manner consistent with, and supports the Mission, Vision and Values of Betel Home.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred but not required
- Certification in Occupational Health & Safety, Disability Management, or Adult Education an asset.
- Experience in staff development, occupational health, or wellness programming (preferably in healthcare or long-term care).
- Strong communication, teaching, and facilitation skills.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., Workplace Safety & Health, Human Rights, Occupational Health & Safety, Long-Term Care standards & Accreditation).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated effective leadership and managerial ability
- Demonstrated effective communication abilities, both written and oral
- Knowledge and experience developing and monitoring policy and procedures
- Knowledge and experience in staff education
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations and environments and produce innovative solutions
- Good physical and mental health to meet the demands of the position
- Proficient in English. The ability to communicate in more than one language would be considered an asset.
Physical Requirements
Moderate to heavy physical effort required
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment
