Reporting to Sr. Manager, Development, the Sales Development Manager is responsible for leading strategic sales initiatives, driving growth in technical and commercial solutions, and strengthening the technical competency of the Regional Sales Managers (RSMs). This role has significant impact by facilitating training, mentoring, and development of RSMs, as well as deploying sales productivity programs and tools.
This position is part of the Sales department, located in Canadá, and will be remote.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
- Frequent engagement with Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) to develop and enhance technical aptitude of Hach’s products and related applications.
- Train and mentor RSMs to achieve technical competency related to strategic initiatives.
- Assist RSMs with qualifying, advancing, and closing strategic and/or complex sales opportunities, including performing site evaluations to uncover unmet needs and driving funnel growth at target accounts.
- Drive growth of lab, process equipment, and service sales in support of strategic solutions strategy.
- Take a primary leadership role in the deployment of sales productivity programs and sales tools.
- Train and onboard new RSMs to rapidly assimilate new associates.
- Work closely with new product commercialization teams to ensure rapid deployment of technical and commercial content to the field.
- Proactively engage and act as voice of sales (VOS) with other departments such as Product Management, Marketing, Technical Support, Training, and Service.
- Specialize in at least one product line or offering and be the expert within the SDM team.
- Gather information on competitors, market trends, strategic opportunities, and risks.
- Travel up to 50% across North America.
The essential requirements of the job include: BA, BS or MS degree required. A degree in a commercial or science-related field such as Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Engineering or equivalent is preferred.
5+ years of experience in technical customer-facing roles such as technical support, direct sales, or service.
Demonstrated experience consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Knowledge of instrumentation and control technologies.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical customers, including proven ability to speak before large groups.
Willingness and ability to assimilate technical information quickly.
Ability to travel up to 50% across North America.
Must have and maintain a valid driver license and a driving record acceptable to Hach Company.

Sales Development Manager (Responsable du développement des ventes)
Rattaché(e) au Sr. Manager, Development , vous serez responsable de la conduite des initiatives stratégiques de vente, de la croissance des solutions techniques et commerciales, et du renforcement des compétences techniques des Regional Sales Managers (RSM). Ce rôle a un impact significatif en facilitant la formation, le mentorat et le développement des RSM, ainsi qu’en déployant des programmes et outils de productivité commerciale.

Vos missions quotidiennes :
- Collaborer fréquemment avec les RSM pour développer et améliorer leur expertise technique sur les produits Hach et leurs applications.
- Former et accompagner les RSM afin d’atteindre les compétences techniques liées aux initiatives stratégiques.
- Aider les RSM à qualifier, faire progresser et conclure des opportunités de vente stratégiques ou complexes, y compris en réalisant des évaluations sur site pour identifier les besoins non satisfaits et stimuler la croissance du pipeline chez les comptes cibles.
- Stimuler la croissance des ventes de laboratoires, d’équipements de process et de services en soutien à la stratégie des solutions stratégiques.
- Assumer un rôle de leadership dans le déploiement des programmes et outils de productivité commerciale.
- Former et intégrer les nouveaux RSM pour faciliter leur assimilation rapide.
- Collaborer étroitement avec les équipes de commercialisation des nouveaux produits pour assurer le déploiement rapide des contenus techniques et commerciaux sur le terrain.
- Agir proactivement comme voix des ventes (VOS) auprès des autres départements (Gestion de produit, Marketing, Support technique, Formation, Service).
- Se spécialiser dans au moins une gamme de produits et être l’expert au sein de l’équipe SDM.
- Collecter des informations sur les concurrents, les tendances du marché, les opportunités stratégiques et les risques.
- Voyager jusqu’à 50 % en Amérique du Nord.
Profil recherché :
- Diplôme BA, BS ou MS requis. Une formation dans un domaine commercial ou scientifique (Chimie, Biologie, Sciences de l’environnement, Ingénierie ou équivalent) est préférée.
- Plus de 5 ans d’expérience dans des rôles techniques orientés client (support technique, vente directe ou service).
- Expérience avérée dans l’atteinte ou le dépassement des objectifs de vente.
- Connaissance des technologies d’instrumentation et de contrôle.
- Capacité à communiquer efficacement avec des clients techniques et non techniques, y compris devant de larges audiences.
- Volonté et aptitude à assimiler rapidement des informations techniques.
- Capacité à voyager jusqu’à 50 % en Amérique du Nord.
- Permis de conduire valide et dossier de conduite acceptable par Hach.
