Reporting to the Principal Software Engineer, you will design and build the internal web applications our residents, families, guests, and team members rely on every day. From employee self-service tools and resident portals to online dining reservations, recreation registration, and community experiences, your work will directly improve how people interact with Shannex.
This is an opportunity to lead our front-end development for modern web applications while helping shape user experience, accessibility, and technical standards across our digital platforms. You'll collaborate closely with designers, software engineers, operational leaders, and business partners to build secure, scalable, and accessible applications that support our organizations healthcare, hospitality, and seniors' living.

About The Opportunity
Design, develop, and maintain responsive web applications used by team members, residents, families, guests, and club members Build reusable front-end components and design patterns that create consistent, scalable user experiences Develop secure integrations with internal APIs and third-party platforms while ensuring reliable authentication, validation, and performance Champion accessibility by designing and developing applications that meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA standards Collaborate with IT, Operations, Clinical, Recreation, Dining, and other business teams to translate user needs into intuitive digital solutions Participate in code reviews, automated testing, deployment, and continuous improvement of development practices Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and continually enhance usability and reliability
About You
In addition to placing high value on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement, you bring:
8+ years of professional experience building modern web applications Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Expert-level knowledge of HTML, CSS, responsive design, semantic markup, and accessibility best practices Strong TypeScript experience and proficiency with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue Experience integrating RESTful or GraphQL APIs into enterprise applications Familiarity with automated testing, source control, and modern CI/CD development practices Excellent understanding of web security principles and secure coding practices Great collaboration skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Asset Qualifications
Very comfortable designing digital experiences for older adults or highly accessible environments Experience contributing to design systems and working with tools such as Figma Comfortable with content management systems or low-code platforms Experience supporting hospitality, e-commerce, online payment, or reservation technologies
