As a Specialist – Leadership Developmentwithin our Learning & Development Department, you will be responsible to assist in the research, development, and implementation of programs and initiatives in the areas of Coaching and Leadership Development for both Civilian and Sworn members.
What will your typical day look like?
- Assist in the research, development, and implementation of programs and initiatives in the areas of Coaching and Leadership Development.
- Researches, prepares, and delivers written and verbal reports related to leadership training, proposals, programs, as well as coaching and organizational development.
- Participates in standing and ad hoc committees related to coaching, leadership development and organizational learning.
- Coordinates and delivers training to staff across the organization in areas such as personality assessment, emotional intelligence, leadership and organizational coaching.
- Facilitates both one on one (1-on-1) and team coaching sessions with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Pursues ongoing professional development in leadership, coaching, and adult education.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Enough about us, lets talk about you
You are someone with:
- Post-Secondary diploma/degree in Leadership, Coaching, Organizational Development, Adult Education, or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- International Coaching Federation (ICF) certification or equivalent, or the ability to successfully obtain the ICF certification or equivalent within one (1) year of being assigned.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Leadership Development, Coaching, Organizational Development, Adult Education, or related field.
- The ability to successfully complete an adult education instruction course within on (1) year of being assigned.
- Demonstrated intermediate knowledge of computer applications pertinent to the function.
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver training programs and workshops.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment with a high level of professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across diverse teams with high organizational awareness.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills in complex and dynamic environments.
- Experience providing guidance and mentorship to others in a professional setting.
- Training in Emotional Intelligence, Personality Assessment Tools (e.g. MBTI, DISC) or similar frameworks.
- Demonstrated commitment to personal wellness and professional growth.
- Proven ability to analyze complex, non-routine problems that arise from multiple causes, using diverse sources of information, including unfamiliar areas, and recommend well-considered solutions.
- Ability to interpret and apply organizational policies and procedures to novel or ambiguous situations with minimal supervision.
- Experience in facilitated learning and group coaching.
- Experience preparing structured recommendations for approval, based on thorough evaluation of variables and alignment with organizational strategic objectives
What we offer
The salary range for this permanent, full-time position is $63,103.00 to $98,976.00 per annum. Peel Regional Police offers a highly competitive compensation package; applicants will be considered for the top end of the range ($86,604.00 - $98,976.00) based on experience. The salary is complemented with a comprehensive benefit program, including employer-paid Health/Dental and Life Insurance; and the OMERS Pension Plan effective upon hire.
