Trucking Fleet Manager
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Trucking Fleet Manager to oversee the maintenance and repair of our fleet of trucks and pickups. This role ensures vehicles remain in top working condition, manages a team of mechanics, and drives operational efficiency while controlling costs.
Key Responsibilities:
· Coordinate and supervise repairs for trucks and pickups.
· Approve mechanic time sheets and manage shift scheduling, including night crews.
· Arrange winter maintenance and seasonal changeovers (spring/fall).
· Handle warranty claims and ensure compliance with manufacturer requirements.
· Schedule regular servicing and annual safety inspections (in-house and outsourced).
· Oversee emissions testing and maintain accurate records of PTO hours.
· Ensure the shop environment meets safety and cleanliness standards.
· Price and arrange outside vendor repairs when needed.
· Assist in determining specifications for new trucks and trailers.
· Lead safety meetings and monitor adherence to facility audit guidelines.
· Conduct wage reviews for shop personnel.
Qualifications:
· Proven experience in fleet management and supervising mechanics.
· Strong knowledge of truck maintenance, warranties, and safety regulations.
· Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
· Ability to manage 24/7 maintenance operations during peak seasons.
· Proficiency in scheduling, budgeting, and vendor management.
· Must hold a valid 310T Truck & Coach Technician License.
