Salary Range: $63,347 to $116,190 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement)

**Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience: **
- Extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching in all areas of this assignment.
- Knowledge of, and demonstrated application of, the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement teaching practices that align with the Professional Standards for BC Educators.
- Degree or Major in Home Economics
- Experience in teaching a developing a Foods & Nutrition program at the secondary or middle school level.
- demonstrated competence in teaching all aspects of a Home Economics Program, using highly successful instructional strategies that engage and motivate students
- demonstrated understanding of the Foods and Nutrition Curriculum
- knowledge of, and willingness to practice, all elements of the reporting order, specifically utilizing proficiency scales and descriptive feedback for assessing and communicating student progress and learning
- demonstrated ability to motivate and provide success for students who experience difficulties with learning and require additional support through student services
- demonstrated ability to recognize, acknowledge, and plan for individual student differences and to adjust instructional practices accordingly
- demonstrated experience with the UDL framework planning for access points and success for all learners
- demonstrated experience with the RTI framework to support student learning
- demonstrated experience in reading, contributing to, and fulfillment of Individual Education Plans
- demonstrated experience and continued commitment to honoring First Peoples Principles of Learning and the Indigenization of curriculum
- demonstrated ability to work in a trauma-informed capacity
- demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, classroom management, collaborative skills, and instructional strategies to teach secondary students
- demonstrated ability to work closely with staff in a team-oriented approach
- demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues both verbally, in writing, and using technology
- demonstrated knowledge and understanding of adolescent development
- demonstrated commitment to and engagement in lifelong professional and personal learning
