Our Woodlands Accounting Clerk is essential to the team. They enter woodlands contractor payments, perform journal entries, prepare bank deposits and keep our office running smoothly with supply ordering and administrative tasks! If you are a detail-oriented administrative professional who is eager to learn and thrives on deadlines, we would love to connect.
We’re looking for a Woodlands Accounting Clerk to join our Woodlands Finance Team in Lumby, British Columbia. The Southern Interior Woodlands Team manages Tolko's tenure and fibre supply in the Southern Interior of British Columbia, covering an area of 953,447 hectares. We are dedicated to sustaining these areas to the benefit of all who live and work there.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

Two years relevant experience in an administrative or accounts payable role.

Previous accounts payable experience and working knowledge of JDE Edwards would be considered assets.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.
-
Excellent computer skills with an emphasis on Excel.
-
General knowledge of the forest industry, including woodlands activities an asset.
-
Post-secondary education in business or administration is an asset.

In your role you will:

Be accountable for the timely processing of payables and general administrative duties.
-
You will verify accounts from suppliers, making sure that payments are in the correct currency, are coded correctly, discounts taken, payments processed on time and in correct financial period for payables received Complete monthly GL account reconciliations, journal vouchers and various office duties.

Interface with various internal and external contacts including logging vendors, logging contractors, CRA, and the Ministry of Forests.

Use a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Be a resourceful team player who can work independently.
