Position Title: RF Systems Engineer

The RF Systems Engineer role is to design, develop, and validate advanced radio frequency systems and components. They possess strong expertise in RF circuits, antennas, wireless communication principles, and system-level design. This role involves hands-on development, simulation, testing, and integration of RF systems used in commercial, industrial, or mission-critical applications.
GENERAL DUTIES
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
RF System Design & Development
· Design, model, and optimize RF systems, including transmitters, receivers, antennas, filters, and matching networks.
· Perform system-level link budget analysis, noise figure calculations, and RF propagation modeling.
Develop, test, and deploy infrastructure components, including servers, networks, and software applications.
Testing & Validation
· Conduct RF testing using VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power meters.
· Develop automated test procedures and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (ISED Canada, FCC, ETSI).
· Analyze test results, troubleshoot performance issues, and propose design improvements.
· Diagnose issues, perform root-cause analysis, and resolve technical problems.
Documentation
· Create detailed design documentation, test reports, schematics, and system architecture diagrams.
· Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specs, system configurations, and maintenance procedures.
Stakeholder Collaboration
· Act as the interface between users, management, and technical teams to ensure systems meet business requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
· Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of RF industry and the testing, tools and equipment used
· Organizational skills: The ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities is essential
· Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
· Computer proficiency: Experience with Engineering and testing software
QUALIFICATIONS
· 3+ years in engineering within radio/public safety communications.
· Strong time management skills.
· Expertise in RF industry
· Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS
· Professional Engineer (P.Eng or PE)
