Please note: This posting is for a 4-month Winter 2026 Student placement with a start date of January 2026 and end date of April 2026.
In order to be eligible for this 4-month Student position, you must either:
- Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of April 2026 ; or
- If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in December 2025 or April 2026), you must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.

What is the opportunity?
In this role, you will be accountable for supporting the objectives of the Commercial Banking Business Risk Management (CB BRM) team. This may include enhancing the processes, tools, resources and methodologies used by the CB BRM team in its support of risk management across the Commercial Banking segment which includes seven key businesses. You will work closely with the members of the CB BRM team, as well as other partners to deliver projects and support BAU activities that strengthen risk management practices across Commercial Banking. You will learn about Risk Management within the context of strategic initiatives coming to life and ongoing monitoring and oversight.
What will you do?
- Look critically, with the team, at the CB BRM processes and engagement model and find opportunities to enhance and/or automate Business Risk process or promote collaboration
- Explore AI opportunities for risk management
- Build reports and/or provide analysis in support of issue and event management
- Support risk reporting, training and documentation including the Operational Risk Scorecard, CB Regulatory requirements and pipeline, Risk Appetite, Issues & Events Reports
- Re-organize information, reports, approval documents and presentation material on the CB BRM SharePoint and Shared Drive, including audit materials
- Assists in the sustainment of a disciplined environment around issues and events, risk appetite and governance & risk oversight
- Work alongside BRM team, and support BRM advisory and Risk, Controls, Delivery and Performance team on various initiatives.

Must have:
- Strong proficiency with technology - Excel (Macros & Pivot Tables), Tableau, Word and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Problem solving skills and strong analytical, critical and creative thinking
- Demonstrated ability to take the initiative to solve problems, take ownership and be accountable and inquisitive
- Collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done in a detail-oriented environment
- Good organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent activities and to work successfully under pressure
- Ability to grasp information quickly with a high attention to detail
Nice to have:
- Understanding of the financial services industry and banking system, commercial banking experience
- Comfortable with ambiguity
- Related work experience, including in a risk management and monitoring/oversight role
