Job Summary & Key Responsibilities

The Part-time Academic will teach in person lectures and labs for HORT2011 Arboriculture for the period of September to December 2026.

Lectures are scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:05am to 11.25am and the labs are scheduled Tuesdays from 11:35am to 2:25pm. The Part-time Academic will use Brightspace to administer the course. The Part-time Academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including lectures, labs, test preparation and online evaluation. The position reports to the chair of the Department.

Qualifications/Requirements of Position

At least 5 years experience teaching Arboriculture, and certification as an ISA Certified Arborist. Excellent oral, written communication, collegiality and interpersonal skills. As a technical course, a Bachelor of Technology in Horticulture is required OR a Masters/PhD in a related field.

Salary Range/Pay Rate

Per CUPE Collective Agreement
