About The Role As part of the IT Infrastructure team, this position is focused on managing SOCAN’s overall IT infrastructure comprised of best-in-class virtualization, compute, storage, network, applications, and cloud technologies. They will work closely with various technology teams and business stakeholders and be accountable for infrastructure delivery, configuration automation, monitoring of infrastructure assets and services, capacity planning, performance testing and optimization, troubleshooting and remediation.

What You’ll Do / Key Responsibilities

  • Deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of all infrastructure assets
  • Design and implementation of new technologies to enhance SOCAN’s existing network, compute, or cloud infrastructure
  • Establishing and implementing secure configurations for Infrastructure applications, servers, network devices, cloud services using industry benchmarks such as CIS
  • Continuous vulnerability assessment and remediation using a variety of tools and benchmarks
  • Capacity planning and performance monitoring
  • Configuration management, deployment, and application of security best practices within SOCAN’s cloud infrastructure hosted in Microsoft Azure
  • Data protection and recovery
  • Incident response and change management
  • Incident response and resolution
  • Request fulfillment and change management
  • Maintenance, monitoring, and analysis of logs
  • Work with other SOCAN groups and project stakeholders for the planning and execution of corporate and departmental projects and initiatives

What You Will Bring / Qualifications & Experience

  • Post-secondary education or an equivalent of related education and experience, or IT Certifications
  • Experience working in comparable positions
  • Knowledge of automating infrastructure delivery and configuration using tools such as terraform, chef, puppet, Ansible
  • Knowledge of PowerShell, Python scripting
  • Understanding of Kubernetes / Docker
  • Understanding VMWare virtualization technologies including vSphere and NSX-T
  • Understanding of security concepts, device management and security policy implementation and management
  • Understanding of cloud computing technologies (Microsoft Azure/AWS), business drivers, and emerging computing trends
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
