Reports To: Installation Supervisor / Foreman
Location: York Precast Inc. – Various Project Sites
Position Summary
ThePrecast Installeris responsible for assisting with the safe and accurate installation of precast concrete components used in commercial, residential, and industrial construction projects. Working as part of a small installation crew, the Precast Installer supports all aspects of panel erection including site preparation, rigging, lifting, bracing, grouting, and finishing work.
The role requires strong teamwork, attention to safety, and the ability to work efficiently in outdoor construction environments.
Key Responsibilities

Assist with the layout and installation of precast concrete components on construction sites.

Work as part of an installation crew (typically 3–5 team members) to erect precast structures safely and efficiently.

Assist with rigging panels, guiding lifts, and signaling crane operators during installation.

Support installation activities including placement, alignment, and temporary bracing of precast panels.
-
Perform concrete grouting of hollow core slabs and precast wall panels.
-
Patch brace holes and perform minor finishing and repair work as required.

Assist with site preparation activities prior to installation.

Safely operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, forklifts, or other equipment when required.

Maintain clear communication with the Installation Supervisor or Foreman regarding progress and site conditions.

Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times.

Participate in toolbox meetings and other safety initiatives.

Maintain a clean and organized work area on the job site.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Installation Supervisor.
Requirements
-
Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License with reliable transportation.

Minimum3+ years of experience in Precast Concrete, Manufacturing, Construction or other related industry.

Ability to work safely at heights using appropriate fall protection systems.
-
Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing repetitive manual tasks.
-
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
-
Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling requirements.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
Preferred Assets
-
Previous experience installing precast concrete panels.
-
Experience working in construction, structural erection, or concrete installation.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings or Structural engineering blueprints.

Standard First Aid Certification.

Fall Protection Certification.
-
Aerial Work Platform (AWP) Certification.
-
Experience operating lifts, forklifts, or similar site equipment.
Working Conditions

Outdoor construction environment exposed to weather conditions.

Physically demanding work including lifting, bending, climbing, and working at heights.
-
Travel may be required for installation projects including occasional overnight stays.
