About Cardinal Capital Management

Investment Management
51-200 employees
Founded in 1992

A Canadian investment counsel firm built on decades of disciplined, rules-based dividend growth investing and long-term wealth management.

Founded in Winnipeg in 1992, Cardinal is an independent, employee-owned portfolio management firm specializing in dividend growth strategies and value investing. We serve three distinct segments: high-net-worth individuals and families seeking long-term wealth, financial advisors and sub-advisors, and institutional clients including pension funds, endowments, foundations, and family offices.

Our Philosophy: The 12 Cardinal Rules of Investing Discipline drives our team and our results. We apply a consistent, rules-based investment framework across all market cycles—buying quality at reasonable prices, emphasizing dividend growth, and maintaining long-term patience. This disciplined approach to dividend investing and value stock selection isn't reinvented based on trends; it has been proven over time to create long-term wealth.

What We Manage: Separately managed accounts, pooled funds, and balanced investment portfolios across Canadian equities, U.S. equities, international equities, and fixed income. We specialize in dividend growth portfolios and conservative investment management for individual investors, advisors, and institutional clients.

Beyond Investment Management: Through the Cardinal Foundation, we actively support charitable causes and community initiatives across the cities we serve. We support our clients with their charitable aspirations through the management of donor advised fund (DAF) accounts on their behalf. Cardinal Foundation | Charitable giving | Community investment.
