The Opportunity:
Hitachi Energy is a global leader in technology, and the largest supplier of transformers in the world. We are pioneering the digitalization of transformers, while working on the frontier of renewable energy and ultra-high voltage AC & DC applications.
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team with a flexible rotation shift schedule. This position involves alternating between day and afternoon shifts every two weeks.
NOC: 72422 (National Occupational Classification for this job as per the Government of Canada website)
Shift Details:
- Day Shifts: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- Afternoon Shifts: Monday to Thursday, 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM
How you’ll make an impact
Perform all operations required to make the necessary repairs such as:
- Complete HSE, Quality and Operations documents as required
- Assist in the incoming inspection and disassembly of the unit
- Assist in the reassembly of the active part as per the assembly drawings and pictures
- Make the necessary connections (i.e., braze, crimp, bolt etc.) as required
- Assist in preparing the active part for the dry-out process
- Remove active part from oven, perform a final inspection, tighten and re-tank
- Assemble the unit and prepare it for Final Test
- Prepare the unit for shipment Perform other related duties as assigned
Your background
- Preferably a college certificate from a technical program or Grade 12 secondary schooling
- Seeking candidates with millwright expertise
- 2-3 years of experience in an industrial setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues independently
- This is not a Millwright or Electrical Technician role, though experience in these trades is valued.
