Job Summary
The Administrative Accounting Clerk is responsible for processing and recording daily financial transactions while providing support to the Administration department. This role ensures the accurate handling of cash, cheques, credit card payments, and electronic transactions, and maintains proper documentation of all deposits and receipts.
The Administrative Accounting Clerk prepares and reconciles daily deposits, balances cash receipts, and investigates discrepancies when they occur. They also assist with maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and supporting month-end accounting processes.
Working closely with internal departments and the Administration team, the Administrative Accounting Clerk helps ensure that all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner, while maintaining strong internal controls and financial accountability.
Essential Job Functions
- Count, verify, and balance daily cash, cheque, and credit card transactions
- Prepare and process daily bank deposits
- Maintain and replenish departmental cash floats and change orders
- Reconcile daily revenue reports and investigate discrepancies
- Maintain accurate cash logs and supporting documentation
- Assist with weekly or monthly reconciliations
- Communicate with departments to resolve cash or payment discrepancies
- Maintain secure handling and storage of cash and financial records
- Provide administrative support to the Administration department as required
- Prepare incoming supplier invoices for payment
- Reconcile vendor statements
Required Qualifications and Abilities
- Must be eligible to work in Canada – can provide SIN documentation
- Previous experience in cash handling, accounting, or administrative support preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic accounting knowledge and understanding of financial processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, RTP
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
