Senior Mechanical Designer

About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Designer to join a growing engineering team specializing in HVAC and Plumbing system design. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional with Revit MEP experience to lead projects, mentor junior designers, and deliver innovative mechanical solutions for a variety of building projects.
You will be responsible for designing mechanical systems for new construction and renovation projects while coordinating project resources to ensure successful delivery on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the mechanical design of HVAC, plumbing, and drainage systems for commercial, institutional, and multi-family residential projects. Coordinate project resources and delegate tasks to junior and intermediate designers. Mentor and provide technical guidance to team members. Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and project consultants. Review client requirements and develop practical, cost-effective design solutions. Select mechanical equipment in collaboration with suppliers and manufacturers. Prepare schematic designs, design development packages, construction drawings, reports, and specifications. Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables. Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, plumbing codes, and industry standards.
Qualifications
5-10 years of mechanical design experience in HVAC and plumbing systems. Experience working on commercial, institutional, and multi-family residential projects. Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. PMP certification is considered an asset. Strong understanding of building systems, including architectural, structural, civil, electrical, and fire protection coordination. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Knowledge of applicable Canadian building and plumbing codes.
Proficiency with
Revit MEP (required) AutoCAD Bluebeam Microsoft Office Experience managing multiple projects and mentoring small project teams.
