Payroll Services Representative

We are accepting applications for the following Non-Union full-time permanent Payroll Services Representative position at the Education Centre in Seaforth, Ontario.
Hours of Work: 35 Hours per week, 12 months per year
Start Date: As soon as possible
Rate of Pay: $50,026 - $57,062 as of September 1, 2025, in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of Employment for for Non-Union, Management, Administrative and Supervisory Employees.

Reports to: Payroll Supervisor
Responsibilities
Prepare payroll entries and associated pay and benefit adjustments (e.g., LTD, new hires, salary amendments, retroactive pay, garnishments, leaves of absence, unpaid days) for assigned employee groups. Administer payroll processes for multiple unionized groups, ensuring compliance with collective agreements and board policies. Transmit payroll runs, reconcile payroll accounts, and complete year-end processes including T4 generation and verification. Download and process timesheets, applying appropriate pay rates for long term assignments. Process manual cheques and year-to-date adjustments; prepare and balance payroll summaries for integration with accounting systems. Generate Records of Employment (ROEs) and respond promptly to payroll inquiries from staff and schools. Maintain accurate documentation and satisfy audit requirements. Collaborate with HR and Finance teams on payroll-related projects and system enhancements. Promote a positive, safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace. Other duties or projects as required or assigned
Qualifications
1 Year post-secondary education in Secretarial/Accounting and two years of payroll experience, administrative experience or equivalent education and experience. Experience in an education or public sector environment with unionized employee groups is strongly preferred. Familiarity with statutory deductions and payroll processing is considered an asset. Excellent computer literacy skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel; experience with payroll/HRIS systems preferred. Proven ability to work in a team environment with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in handling confidential information. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, with strong numerical aptitude. Ability to identify priorities and manage conflicting demands to meet deadlines.
