About the role

As a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, you will lead a team of analysts and oversee financial insights that support Irving Oil’s Trucking, Delivered Natural Gas, Wholesale, and Irving Energy divisions. Your goal will be to collaborate with business stakeholders to drive strategic focus in FP&A activities while fostering talent development and optimizing resource allocation. Your success will be measured by the clarity and impact of your financial guidance, the strength of your team, and the value delivered to key business units.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Manage forecasting, budgeting, management reporting and decision support activities, analyses and findings performed by analyst team
  • Develop and articulate key findings from analysis and reporting activities to business leadership
  • Define financial objectives for the business; assess risks and opportunities against those objectives
  • Perform ongoing assessment of the internal and external business environments
  • Manage relationships with business stakeholders
  • Enhance the business with supporting performance management technologies which would include business process support
  • Provide support for the business during key business cycles utilizing performance management technologies
  • Provide regular supervision and feedback to financial analysts

Your Skills:

  • Excellent relationship building and customer service skills with the ability to partner well with operations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple stakeholders
  • Strong continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong analytical thinking skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent decision-making skills with the ability to understand process level and financial implications of decisions
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and Experience with building strong work teams and training and developing employees

Your Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting with professional designation
  • 8 + years of relevant experience with strong industry knowledge and 2+ years of Management experience
