Job Overview
The Operations Analyst is responsible for providing advice and consultative support to address the issues, create efficiencies and implement solutions to our suites of products and services.
Role
- Design new or redesign existing processes, document existing business processes, policies and procedures and ensure legislative and regulatory compliance
- Have a critical eye for identifying organizational systemic risks and opportunities of processes and procedures while providing appropriate recommendations
- Collaborate with internal business partners to address areas of opportunities and take action
- Methodically gather, analyze and validate system data while having an integral part in all areas of process design to implementation and communication, all while aligning the policies and procedures to the FirstOntario strategy
- Meticulously document and work through issues encountered during process improvement
- Be the expert in the resolution of business operations issues for the team and organization
- On an ongoing basis provide researched input to system test plans, ensuring they meet business requirements, functionality, performance and operational efficiency
- Work with tight deadlines and provide valuable input on projects to enhance and customize products and processes to exceed operational needs
- Manage project work packages and provide regular detailed status reports to your team while providing recommendations on corrective action if deliverables are in jeopardy
- Actively support the Manager, Operations by providing first hand feedback on team performance, training and coaching
- Enjoy staying ahead of the curve when it comes to Financial Service Industry operations trends and best practices
- Work collaboratively will colleagues and other departments

- Communicate in a fashion that is respectful and well understood
- Build and utilize working relationships with internal business partners across the organization and external contacts
- Utilize Lean methodology to streamline work processes and realize cost and resource efficiencies

- Maintain and encourage open and honest business relationships within the team and throughout the credit union
- Consider healthsafety as a primary concern to ensure the overall well being of self and others
- Perform other duties as we may need you to do
Required Skills
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in business or minimum of three (3) years of hands of equivalent industry experience
- Have experience with automation tools and resources and be able to utilize them for operational excellence and efficiency
- Ability to rapidly grasp processes and identify potential efficiencies (including automation)
- Lean certification with a deep understanding of Agile methodologies and frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban
- Experience working on major projects with time management skills to achieve project deliverables and deadlines
- Effective communication including the ability to influence SMEs and business stakeholders towards change, automation and continuous improvement
- Minimum three (3) years technical writing experience in developing business process documentation with the support of business owners and SMEs
- Expert knowledge of MS Office Suite and other related systems
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills with a keen attention to detail in working with operations issues
- Be quick to respond to requests for support and service
- Be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- Inherently demonstrate a high level of integrity and be trustworthy
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to take action in difficult and challenging situations and deal with uncertainty
- Be aware of and mitigate enterprise risk factors and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, legislation and FirstOntario policies and procedures
- Be open to flexible work hours as required
This position is hybrid in Stoney Creek.

Salary Range: $69,931 to $96,155 annually.
Compensation for this role reflects a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. Those whose experience more closely aligns the role's requirements may be placed higher within the salary range.
