Job Summary
Reporting to the Head Painter, this position provides journeyperson-level painting and finishing services for buildings, fixtures, furniture, parking areas, and related campus infrastructure. The role prepares surfaces, mixes and applies paints, lacquers, varnishes, stains, and other finishes using a variety of techniques and equipment. It also installs floor tile, resilient coverings, baseboards, wall coverings, and performs related glazing and caulking work to support building maintenance and repair. The position maintains tools, equipment, supplies, and safe working conditions in accordance with established procedures and safety standards.
Job Requirements
Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program and possession of a current Painter’s Qualification Certificate. Demonstrated journeyperson-level skill and proficiency in performing a broad range of painting trade duties. Ability to safely work from ladders and scaffolding and operate tools and equipment associated with the trade. A valid B.C. driver’s licence is required to operate a light truck in the performance of duties.
