RED SEAL REFRIGERATION AND AIR CONDITIONING MECHANIC Activity sector: Pulp and Paper
Site: Kamloops
Wage: $52.685 per hour
Schedule: Compressed Work Week (9-hour dayshifts, every other Friday off)
YOUR ROLE The Kruger Kamloops Pulp Mill is looking to hire a full-time Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic to join the Maintenance team.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor the successful candidate will gain exposure to a wide variety of work in our Kraft Pulp Mill. The work will range from trouble shooting and repairs to general preventative maintenance of the plant. All positions will support the mill’s continuous improvement efforts through construction projects.
Your Responsibilities
- Preventative maintenance inspections (including repairs and adjustments);
- Complete documentation of inspections;
- Follow company policies for safety and maintenance;
- Operate hoisting / lifting equipment complete documentation;
- Troubleshoot HVAC problems that are impacting production and take action;
- Complying with relevant codes and standards;
- Maintain a clean and orderly work place.
Your Skills And Abilities
- Safety focused;
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- Detail oriented with proven organization skills;
- Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks ;
- Team player who can maintain effective working relationships with other personnel including trades, peers, superiors, etc.
- Committed to best practices in health, safety and environmental management;
- Self -motivated, open-minded and results oriented;
- Proficient with computers including experience working with Microsoft Office Suite and a computerized maintenance system (i.e. SAP).
Your Qualifications
- Possess a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Interprovincial Journeyperson Certification secured through a formal apprenticeship
- Previous industrial experience working in a safety sensitive environment
- Possessing a dual ticket qualification is an asset
