he Learning Facilitator promotes and facilitates professional learning both within Karis Disability Services and with other stakeholders as delegated. The Learning Facilitator will work collaboratively with the Workplace Learning team as well as the District administration team in coordinating and delivering courses within the District.
The Learning Facilitator will respect and uphold the Values, Vision and Mission of Karis Disability Services, demonstrating the highest standards of courtesy and respect in their dealings with other employees, persons supported and both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

Course Delivery

  • Deliver approved courses to Karis Disability Services employees, and to external organizations.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
  • Provide follow up tools that promote the application of course content to program specific situations.
  • Administer tests and marks, and work in partnership with the Workplace Learning department to recommend improvements to Karis Disability Services courses.
  • Set up training site based on course being taught and participate in course review and updates.

Administrative/General

  • Upgrade personal and professional skills and maintaining current training certifications.

  • Comply with the appropriate course registration and record keeping expectations.

  • Any other administrative tasks

Requirements

1-2 years’ experience (Developmental services, Teaching, course facilitation preferred)

College Diploma

Education and Teaching certificates are considered an asset

Previous course facilitation is an asset.
