About the role
NextStar Energy (NSE) is an innovative joint venture company between LG and Stellantis. It will be Canada's first large-scale lithium-ion battery production plant when it begins production at the Twin Oaks site in Windsor, Ontario. The manufacturing facility will have an annual targeted production capacity in excess of 49 gigawatt hours and will create an estimated 2,500 new jobs in Windsor and the surrounding areas.

Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting process breakdown issues related to process equipment problem & downtime.
- Monitor the status of process equipment, complete varication tasks using mechanical process knowledge and an understanding of machine functions.
- Identify causes of defects and solve process down issues.
- Monitor the status of equipment to verify operation consistency.
- Timely escalation of inspection and equipment issues to the appropriate team members.
- Comply with health/safety/environmental/fire regulations and maintaining 3R5S.
- Support inventory.
- Assist in the training and development of new team members, ensuring they are aligned with the supervisor's training objectives.
- Collaborating with and supporting the persons related to process such as Supervisors, Shift Leader, production technicians, process engineers/technicians, inspection engineers/technicians, and equipment engineers/technicians in the execution of their responsibilities.
Minimum Requirements:
- Completion of a 2- or 3-year college program in a related field, or, in lieu of formal education minimum, 7 years of directly related work experience troubleshooting or hands on (Mechanical or Electrical) experience.
- Computer literacy skills.
- Ability up to 12 hours of work in a limited, noisy, dry space
- Ability to lift up or manually moving materials over 50lbs
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in electricity/electronics/mechanics, etc.
- 3+ Experience with operators and technicians in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience with trouble shooting or hands on experience with machines.
- Some experience with PLCs.
