Overview WildBrain is looking for an FX Artist, 2D (Harmony) to join our team!
Reporting to the FX Supervisor, this position uses Toon Boom Harmony to create and animate new effects which are production-friendly and efficient, using existing effects while maintaining a high artistic standard. We’re looking for strong drawing skills and the ability to work cooperatively with different departments.

Responsibilities & Qualifications What You’ll Do:
- Collaborating FX Supervisor and the Animation Team to design and create effects
- Liaising and communicating with various departments for required assets and input
- Performing artistic tasks and use creative problem solving to create desired effects
- Organizing and managing your own work and files efficiently
- Ensuring work is completed on schedule and to production standards
- Reviewing workload and communicating any issues to Director and Producer
- Assisting with other production tasks to help meet production deadlines
What You’ll Bring
- You have 2+ years of experience working in a production environment in Traditional Animation or Harmony
- You have experience hand drawing effects or animation
- You have experience in Harmony FX (preferred)
- You have experience in managing additional production tasks and responsibilities when requested, while maintaining your own workload
- You demonstrate experience, comprehension and knowledge of classical animation, character animation, and effects animation
- You demonstrate solid drawing skills
- You have the ability to work alongside and communicate with a talented and diverse production team
- Basic understanding of lighting and direction of light is a bonus
This is a Union position and the terms and conditions of employment are covered by a collective agreement. Why WildBrain
Pay Range $1075 - 1350 CAD per week based on a 40-hour work week.
Candidates are paid within the range posted, but their exact pay will vary based on the level, responsibilities and expectations of the role. We also take into consideration the experience and skills that individual brings, with consideration of our internal equity.
