Linux Specialist
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Wintel/Linux & Backup Specialist responsible for managing Windows and Linux server infrastructure, enterprise backup solutions, virtualization platforms, and system administration activities. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in troubleshooting, performance tuning, backup administration, disaster recovery, and infrastructure support. Key Responsibilities Windows (Wintel) Administration Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments. Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and File Services. Monitor server performance and ensure system availability. Perform patch management and security updates. Troubleshoot Windows server issues and outages. Linux Administration Administer Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE). Manage user accounts, permissions, storage, and system services. Perform OS patching, upgrades, and security hardening. Troubleshoot performance and system-related issues. Implement shell scripting for automation. Backup Administration Manage enterprise backup solutions such as: Veritas NetBackup Commvault Veeam Backup & Replication Dell EMC Networker IBM Spectrum Protect (TSM) Configure and monitor backup jobs. Perform backup and restore operations. Manage disaster recovery and business continuity processes. Conduct regular recovery testing and documentation.
