The Warehouse Operator is responsible for executing the daily activities for warehouse & distribution and works closely with the Shipping Supervisor to ensure expectations are communicated and adhered to.

Key Accountabilities

  • Accurate physical to SAP inventories.
  • Materials stored correctly by location and correct condition.
  • BRC audit compliance.
  • Adequate inventory levels maintained to ensure no shortages.
  • Positive interpersonal relationships.
  • Safe working environment.
  • Alchemy and dept. training complete.

Responsibilities

  • Operate stackers and pallets jacks as required.
  • Work in accordance with company policies, departmental procedures, GMP’s and health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure proper storage and stock rotations using F. E F.O. keeping like sku’s together inside the freezer, warehouse, and cooler.
  • Ensure production maintains an uninterrupted supply of materials at all times.
  • Complete warehouse documents, bill of ladings, timely with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Compliance to all HACCP requirements.
  • To administer, verify, reconcile, record, and undertake daily cycle counts of raw materials and packaging inventories.
  • Ensure the verification of actual count of products being shipped and received.
  • Direct where required the in-house transfer of finished, raw & packaging inventories.
  • Data entry system confirmations, bill of ladings, receiving, and other system related tasks.
  • Prepare and execute inventory transfer for both internal and external warehouses as required.
  • Liase with Purchasing and act as an understudy to the Shipping Supervisor.
  • Communicate daily all late deliveries and no appointment times to Purchasing.
  • Crosscheck bill of ladings to ensure stock availability and inform the Shipping Supervisor of any shortages.
  • Report low inventories or stock out positions for raw material and packaging to Purchasing.
  • Responsible for informing Supervisor and Maintenance of any equipment malfunctions inside the freezer/warehouse/cooler.
  • Assist in audit preparations and BRC compliance.
  • Complete required dept. and Alchemy training.
  • Assist in clearing inventory COGI’s.
  • Participate and maintain cleaning standards on master sanitation schedule.
  • Train and certify staff annually in the safe operation of lift trucks and pallet jacks.
  • Provide limited coverage on some duties during Warehouse Supervisor absences.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Strong in basic math.
  • Understanding of warehouse fundamentals.
  • Competent in the safe use of electric pallet equipment.
  • Able to organize tasks quickly.
  • Good oral and written communication.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word.

Required

  • Minimum Grade 12 education with good oral and written English skills.
  • Able to work flexible hours including weekends and nights.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Understands the basics in inventory controls.
  • Proven good attendance record.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word.
  • Competent in the use of computers, inventory systems (SAP).
  • Minimum 1 years practical experience on electric reach stackers and pallet jacks.
  • Forklift certification.

Preferred

  • Knowledge on how to utilize SAP program and RF guns.
  • Must be able to understand the scheduling process, quality training, and safety policies/procedures.
  • Inventory management training.
