Location : Nelson, BC (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
A telecommunications infrastructure company is seeking a Project Coordinator - Fiber Optic & OSP Construction to support the planning and execution of telecom and infrastructure projects. The role requires strong project coordination capabilities combined with practical knowledge of outside plant (OSP), fiber optics, coaxial systems, and pole line construction.
The position supports field operations, subcontractor coordination, and project documentation to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within scope.
Project Planning & Coordination
- Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and resource allocation
- Review and process project drawings
- Prepare bid and tender pricing documentation
- Track project milestones, deliverables, and deadlines
- Monitor project budgets and support cost tracking
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and internal teams
- Maintain organized project documentation and reporting
- Support change order management and documentation
Technical Coordination
- Review and interpret drawings, blueprints, and project specifications
- Prepare material and labor take-offs and support procurement planning
- Ensure installations align with design intent and industry standards
- Coordinate with field technicians to resolve technical issues
Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients during the project lifecycle
- Participate in project meetings and deliver status updates
- Communicate schedule changes, risks, and project progress
- Support strong client relationships through proactive communication
Compliance, Quality & Project Close-Out
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and internal procedures
- Maintain organized project files, permits, and inspection documentation
- Assist with project close-out including as-built documentation and warranty packages
- Support quality assurance and final project reviews
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in a Project Coordinator or project support role
- Minimum 5 years of experience with telecommunications and outside plant systems
- Strong knowledge of fiber optic infrastructure
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and construction documentation
- Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Valid driver's license
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
