Position: Part-Time Photography and Media Design Teacher (0.2 FTE)
Position Type: Temporary, Part-Time (0.2 FTE) from February 2nd, 2026 to June 30th, 2026.
Schedule: 70 minutes per day, tumbling time table.
Reports to: Department Head of Fine Arts & Applied Skills
Job Summary
The Photography and Media Design Teacher is responsible for preparing and teaching specialized visual and digital arts subjects to students in Grades 9-12. This role focuses on developing students' critical thinking, creative expression, and technical proficiency in photography, media design, and digital imaging, in line with the approved provincial curriculum standards.
This role requires someone who can adapt and adjust their teaching to meet the diverse needs of each learner and is passionate about student success.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and present course material for Photography and Media Design classes (e.g., digital photography, graphic design, visual communication) to students according to an approved curriculum framework.
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans using a systematic approach of lectures, practical demonstrations, discussions, hands-on projects, and digital media applications.
- Instruct students on the technical operation of still cameras, lighting, composition, post-production software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite), and ethical use of media.
- Teach one block following a tumbling schedule.
- Collaborate with faculty members to ensure students receive the highest quality education and programming
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans and projects.
- Foster a positive and creative learning environment.
- Provide ongoing feedback to students and parent/guardians regarding student progress

BC Teacher Certification (Teachers Regulation Branch) in the form of a Certificate of Qualification (CoQ) or Independent School Teaching Certificate (ISTC)

FA offers an exceptional and stimulating environment, along with competitive employment packages. The compensation for this position falls within the range of $6,632 to $11,917 for the duration of the contract period. The final salary will be determined based on experience and education.
