Position Summary:

QHR is transitioning from a Product company to a Platform company and building strategic relationships with third-party software partners that enhance Canadian healthcare through high quality digital experiences for patients and professionals.

As the PI Specialist – Platform Integrations, your role combines technical expertise with a strong interest in community engagement and advocacy in the health tech space. You help bridge the gap between a company and its developer and integration community by providing daily support, guidance, and promoting the company's products or technologies to developers. You will possess a strong passion for driving the success of leading health technology integrations, contributing to the advancement of improved healthcare outcomes for all Canadians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in identifying integration opportunities by supporting ongoing development and learning our QHR APIs.
  • Help maintain day-to-day communication and coordination with technology partners.
  • Support third-party developers by answering questions and helping with setup and troubleshooting.
  • Help investigate and resolve/escalate integration issues during initial stages of delivery.
  • Learn to communicate technical changes, such as new features or bug fixes, to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to advocate for integration needs across teams.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining technical documentation and developer guides.
  • Help track integration updates to ensure they stay aligned with product changes and user needs.
  • Stay current with basic API concepts, best practices, and new tools or technologies in the industry.
  • Contribute to platform-related professional service tasks, as needed.
  • Support additional tasks and projects as assigned.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Some experience (1+ years) working with web application development (e.g., Java, JavaScript).
  • Basic understanding of SQL databases.
  • Eagerness to learn and solve technical challenges independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to document processes clearly and concisely.
  • Interest in system integrations, APIs, and working with developer tools.
  • Familiarity with general security and data protection and data handling standards (e.g., REST APIs, OAuth, PHIPA/PIPEDA is a plus).
  • Some exposure to CRMs like Salesforce or task tracking tools such as Jira to manage daily integrator support and deployment projects.

Nice to Have (Not Required):

  • Exposure to healthcare data standards like FHIR or SMART on FHIR.
  • Experience using tools like Splunk or RabbitMQ.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Basic knowledge of API management tools or platforms.
  • Understanding of identity management systems like Azure AD or OKTA.
  • Experience using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
