Reporting to the Manager, Legal – Commercial Operations, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our lawyers and legal professionals, gaining hands-on experience across diverse and impactful areas of a major energy company. Note: This is a 6-month temporary full-time position with the possibility of extension and/or conversion into permanent.

Key Accountabilities:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to about 8 to 10 lawyers within the Commercial Operations subgroup of Legal Services
- Prepare, review, and manage contract documentation, as well as draft and assist with minutes, logs, workflows, diagrams, presentations, templates, policies, legal documents, memoranda, and professional correspondence
- Establish, organize, maintain and close legal files in accordance with departmental filing systems and standards
- Work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment, consistently demonstrating accuracy, discretion, and professionalism
- Collaborate with and support other administrative professionals across the Legal Services group to ensure the successful completion of projects and departmental initiatives
What You Bring to the Role:
- Successful completion of a recognized legal Office Administration or Legal Assistant program (1‑year Certificate or 2‑year Diploma)
- Minimum of 3+ years in a law firm or in-house legal environment, demonstrating strong legal administrative expertise
- Demonstrated proficiency with core tools and industry knowledge, including corporate‑commercial law, the energy sector and regulatory frameworks, as well as strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in high volume and fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards of service and professionalism
- Sound proofreading skills and high degree of accuracy
- Comfortable working autonomously and as part of cross-functional teams, with a strong track record of building effective relationships across business units
- Known for sound decision-making, proactive problem-solving, and a high level of accountability, confidentiality, and ethical conduct
