Position Summary

The Guest Experiences Attendant will be responsible for providing exceptional service and engagement to guests and team members using Deerhurst Resort’s recreational facilities. The successful candidate will also be responsible for bookings, inventory, equipment rental, leading programming such as crafts or children’s excursions, and all aspects of the recreation operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Greets all guests and team members providing exceptional and professional service.
• Provides information regarding all recreation facilities and activities to help guests make the most of their Deerhurst Resort stay.
• Assists guests with sizing of recreation equipment.
• Explains and monitors safe use of equipment.
• Responds to first aid and emergency situations as required.
• Responsible for inventory, equipment counts, opening and closing duties.
• Ensures cleanliness and organization of the recreation areas and ensures that equipment is maintained throughout the day, reporting any and all damage.
• Attends to any guest complaints to ensure the guest’s needs are met, dialogue with guests is tracked, and followed-up with a leader.
• Ensures an adequate supply of towels and other items are available.
• Ensures guests have completed the necessary activity waivers.
• Completes all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous guest service experience in a hospitality or recreation related field is a strong asset
• First Aid & CPR-C an asset
• Pleasure Craft License and safe boating skills is an asset
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Friendly, approachable and has a professional demeanor
• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in all different kinds of weather
• Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to work well with other staff and supervisors
• Willing to support other departments or events as needed
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn safety procedures and emergency response
• Knowledge of recreational equipment and activities an asset
• Ability to lead group activities or classes, or a willingness to learn

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

• Comfortable working in and around water and in outdoor conditions (all weather)
• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
• Occasional ascending or descending stairs and ramps
