Payroll Administrator

Location: Halifax/Dartmouth, NS

We’re looking for a certified Payroll Administrator (PCP designation required) to join our dynamic team in Halifax, NS. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves numbers, compliance, and making payroll run smoothly across multiple provinces.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for employees across multiple provinces in Canada, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Verify employee time, expenses, and adjustments in preparation for payroll processing.
  • Provide excellent employee support by responding to payroll-related inquiries.
  • Issue ROEs (Records of Employment) to Service Canada.
  • Assist with year-end reporting, including T4s and RL-1s.
  • Stay current with Canadian payroll legislation, tax requirements, and provincial labour standards.
  • Educate managers on payroll best practices to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Administer Workers’ Compensation (WCB) across all provinces.
  • Post and clear payroll expenses bi-weekly.
  • Support payroll and finance teams with additional duties as required.
  • Other duties as required.

 Skills & Qualifications:

  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification from the Canadian Payroll Association (required).
  • 3+ years of payroll processing and compliance experience in Canada.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Knowledge of multi-provincial payroll and Canadian labour standards.
  • Strong communication skills, with a passion for accuracy and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with SAP and Dayforce is an asset.
