Compensation: $80,000-$130,000/yr salary + benefits experience dependent
Position Type: Contract Full-Time | On-Site | Field Leadership
Ansept Construction is looking for a Site Superintendent who can own a project site from mobilization to handover. You're the highest-ranking person on-site every day. You coordinate the trades, enforce safety, manage the schedule, and make sure the Project Manager doesn't have to worry about what's happening on the ground because you've got it handled. This role is for someone who's done the progression - you started in the trade, moved into leadership, and now you run entire sites.
What a Day Looks Like
You're on-site before anyone else. You walk the site, review the day's schedule, and brief your foremen on priorities. You know exactly where every trade should be and what should be completed by end of day.
Mid-morning, the drywaller is behind and it's going to push the painter. You're already adjusting the 3-week look-ahead and calling the PM with options, not just problems. An inspector shows up for a framing inspection. You walk them through the work confidently because you've been checking quality all week. It passes first time. Before you leave, your daily log is submitted. Progress photos, crew counts, subcontractor activity, weather conditions, any issues - it's all documented. The PM has everything they need without having to ask.

You Must Have (Non-Negotiable)
Minimum 5 years of construction experience, with at least 3 years as a Superintendent or senior site supervisor managing complete project sites (not just a single trade). Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple trades, manage subcontractors, and maintain a project schedule. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings. Knowledge of Alberta OH&S legislation and building codes. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Nice to Have (But Not Required)
Open to travel. Experience managing both residential renovation/restoration and commercial construction projects. Experience on projects ranging from under $500K to $10M+. Current safety certifications (WHMIS, CSTS, First Aid). Proficiency in construction management software (Procore, Archdesk, or similar). Gold Seal or equivalent construction management designation. Experience developing foremen into stronger leaders.
