ROLE

We're seeking a skilled Cloud Systems Administrator to manage and support our cloud IT infrastructure. This role will be responsible for maintaining our Microsoft ecosystem, overseeing system security, managing vendor relationships, and providing hands-on technical support as needed. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, networking and security best practices, and a proactive approach to system performance and reliability.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Microsoft 365 & Entra ID Administration

  • Manage Office 365 environment including OneDrive, SharePoint, Exchange Online, and Teams.
  • Administer user access, permissions, and group policies within Entra ID (Azure Active Directory).
  • Ensure seamless integration between M365 services and other business systems.

Azure & Windows Server Management

  • Administer and maintain Windows Server environments hosted in Microsoft Azure.
  • Manage virtual machines, storage, networking, and backups.
  • Monitor system performance and implement improvements for scalability and reliability.

Security & Compliance

  • Oversee and continuously improve Provident’s IT security program, including antivirus management, zero trust architecture, and patch management.
  • Coordinate penetration testing and vulnerability assessments, ensuring remediation of findings.
  • Maintain documentation for security policies, incident response, and compliance requirements.

Vendor & ERP Management

  • Coordinate upgrades, integrations, and issue resolution between internal users and external partners.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and ensure adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs).

Other Duties as required:

  • Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive systems support knowledge base documentation for the supported systems. This includes documenting hardware and software inventory, troubleshooting steps, and best practices for issue resolution.

  • Write and implement scripts to automate tasks, streamline processes, and improve efficiency in providing technical support. Continuously explore opportunities to leverage automation tools and technologies to enhance support capabilities.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improving end user experience, system performance, and operational efficiency.

  • Actively participate in projects related to technology upgrades, system integrations, and process enhancements.

  • Act as a point of contact for complex technical issues, providing guidance and expertise to resolve them.

  • Contribute to the development of IT policies and process which enhance IT governance of systems throughout the organization.

  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the technology team and the organization

    REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of experience in systems administration, preferably in a hybrid cloud environment.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Azure-based infrastructure.

  • Hands-on experience with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) management and administration.

  • Understanding of zero trust principles, endpoint security, and vulnerability management.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems and vendor management.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and communication abilities. Post-secondary diploma or certificate from a technical college. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or MCSE preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Office setting with frequent sitting at desk and using computer and peripherals.
  • Occasional travel required to building sites for technology deployment and assessment (generally within GTA).
  • Ability to respond to urgent/emergency I.T. concerns outside of business hours as required.
  • Lifting/pulling/pushing weight up to 40 pounds may be required.
