Job Overview Reporting directly to the VP of IT, the Senior IT Security Analyst plays a key role in the vision and delivery of cybersecurity across 123Dentist’s IT and digital infrastructure. You will help scale existing patterns – and have the opportunity to define and implement your own across all IT domains, including security of technology assets and data nationally. This role is accountable to assess, implement, and monitor security controls across dental practices and corporate locations nationally – including the roll out of clinic-level controls in partnership with service delivery providers. • Coordinate incident response with internal stakeholders and third-party providers.
  • Conduct post-incident reviews to improve response processes.

Risk Assessment and Compliance

  • Conduct regular vulnerability scans, penetration testing coordination, and risk assessments across all sites.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, PIPEDA, PCI DSS, and other applicable privacy and security regulations.
  • Maintain and audit security policies, standards, and procedures tailored to dental operations.
  • Support security compliance during onboarding of new dental practices into 123.

Security Tools and Technology Management

  • Administer and optimize security tools to ensure strong protection and minimal business disruption (threat monitoring, endpoint protection, mobile device security, encryption, and MFA, among others).
  • Work with the IT team to ensure secure configurations of workstations, practice management software, imaging systems, and cloud services.
  • Assist with patch management and secure configuration baselines.

Awareness Training

  • Administer and deliver our cybersecurity awareness training platform for dental office staff and corporate employees.
  • Create and execute phishing simulations and campaigns to improve security culture
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert for security best practices.

Qualifications Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in information security, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–5 years of experience in IT security, ideally in healthcare, dental, or multi-site environments.
  • Experience with application of regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, PIPEDA, PCI DSS, CIS Controls, or NIST.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of network and endpoint security, firewalls, intrusion detection, and access controls.
  • Familiarity with Azure, Windows, Active Directory, Office 365, and cloud-based services.
  • Experience with SIEM, EDR, and vulnerability management tools.
  • Understanding of encryption, data loss prevention, and identity access management.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple priorities across locations.
  • Collaborative and proactive mindset.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • CompTIA Security+
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Associate of ISC²
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
