Job Description

Position: General Labourer/Rock Truck Driver (Night Shift, 1 Year Term-Full Time)

Starting Range: Starting at $28.11 (Pending Education & Experience)

Sunday to Saturday - 40 hours per week

Location: 216 Noonday Road, Garden River First Nation, ON

Garden River First Nation, also known as Ketegauneebee is located near Sult Ste. Marie, Ontario. The community is part of the Ojibwa band and is recognized for its cultural heritage. Created in 1850 with the signing of the Robinson-Treaty, GRFN administers a variety of programs and services. Various department managers oversee their individual programs, and overall administrative duties are overseen by a Chief Administrative Officer who is directly responsible to the Council who in turn, are responsible to the membership. Garden River First Nation is looking for a motivated and dependable General Laborer / Rock Truck Driver to join the Garden River Aggregates team. This position plays a vital role in supporting aggregate operations by maintaining a safe and efficient worksite, assisting with crushing plant operations, and safely operating a rock truck to transport materials throughout the worksite. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced outdoor environment and contribute to the continued success of Garden River Aggregates while upholding the Mission, Vision, and Values of Garden River First Nation.

What You Will Do

General labour to maintain clean, safe efficient work site Basic maintenance of all equipment Ensure all stationary machinery, crushing plant machinery and heavy equipment is Performing a circle check and fill in out proper paperwork before operating a rock truck Report and maintenance that needs to be performed to the mechanic Cleaning and maintaining all equipment and crusher components Keeping track of and detailing inventory; Helping the lead mechanic with heavy lifting Operate Rock Truck, Skid Steer and other equipment when required

Required Skills

What you can bring to the role:

High School Diploma or G.E.D DZ License an asset, not required Knowledge of truck and equipment safety; Ability to diagnose minor repairs to vehicles Perform physical activities for extended periods Able to life heavy objects up to 50 pounds; Able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions;
